EB Matic Lipstick Review

I went out searching for a lipstick and got this EB Advance Matic Lipstick. At first glance, I thought it was Matte Lipstick but looking upclose, it was MATIC not MATTE. haha

PRICE:

I bought it for Php 180 at my local department store.

PACKAGING:

It looks like a permanent marker with a twist thing at the bottom. Its color combination is so cute! It comes in a plastic white tube with black prints and a color accent at the bottom.

I chose the shade 'Sweet Sorbet' basing it at the bottom of the tube. The color at the bottom is a nude brownish pink but, it is actually light pink when applied. (The color at the bottom of the tube wasn't the same as the color payoff when applied on the lips so better swatch the product first before buying). Anyway, I still like the color of the lipstick so it's okay.
Photo under Natural light
The color payoff is really light pink and not brownish pink.

FORMULATION:

It has a creamy matte finish. It glides on smoothly. It has a strong coconut scent. Those who are sensitive to scents  will not like this product.

I honestly don't like the formulation because it looks really patchy on me. Some areas have more product than other areas. It also emphasized my dry lips making flakes of dry skin stand out A LOT. If you have dry lips, I would suggest putting on a lip moisturizer or a lip balm first to hydrate and eliminate dry flakes because this product emphasizes dry lips.

LONGEVITY:

Transfers easily
It transfers easily and is not kiss proof.. Definitely avoid eating if you want this product to stay on your lips longer.

AFTER 2 HOURS...

The lipstick only lasted for two hours. It made my lips very patchy and dry flakes are very visible. I kept on peeling the dry flakes thus, removing the lipstick with the bits of dry skin.

FINAL VERDICT:

I have a love hate relationship with this lipstick. There are times that I like this and there are times that I don't.
I love the color and the consistency of this lipstick but, the thing that turned me off was that it looks patchy on dry lips and it doesn't last long. I would only recommend this product to those lucky people with hydrated lips. Haha
If you have dry lips like me I would suggest moisturizing the lips first or buying another type of lipstick.

Overall, I would give this product 2.5 out of 5

Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara Review

This Mascara was advertised a lot here in the Philippines and there were a lot of good reviews about this product. I got myself one and tried it out myself.

PACKAGING:

  • It comes in a super girly black tube with pink prints.
  • It also has a curved wand that is supposed to follow the curve of your eyes making the application easier(?). I personally don't like the wand because it is really big and the brush did nothing to separate my lashes.

Curved wand with compact bristles

FORMULA:

  • The formula is wet and dries fast. It doesn't take too long for the product to dry.
  • It looks very natural when you put one coat of the product.
  • Perfect for everyday use.
  • The formula holds curls better.
  • Does not curl your lashes. you should curl your lashes first with an eyelash curler.

Before (Curled lashes)
Photo with Flash
After ONE coat of mascara (Left)
It is very natural. It just made my lashes look fuller
After TWO Coats of mascara (Left)
It still looks natural and there are no clumps but, my lashes are sticking to each other.
After THREE coats of mascara (Left)
It looks a little clumpy.  The brush did nothing to separate my lashes.

After FOUR coats of mascara (Left)
It is super clumpy. I got spidery lashes but, it still holds up well after several layers of mascara.

AFTER 7 HOURS...

This is one layer of mascara worn for 7 hours. There is very little to none smudging around the eyes up close. My eyelashes are still holding up the curl.

WATERPROOF:

  • I tried washing my face with the mascara on and it did not smudge or dissolve. It is waterproof.

PANDA EYES TEST:

Removing the mascara was easy. The product was easily dissolved. I was scared that some residue of black will stay on my eyes but,  after using my Nichido Makeup remover, there were no mascara traces left. Yey  to no panda eyes. haha

FINAL VERDICT:

This is not a mascara that will curl your lashes all by itself. If you have straight eyelashes like me, you need to curl it first before putting on mascara.

I like how my lashes held the curl throughout the day. Other brands weigh down my eyelashes causing it to be straight.

This is a good mascara for everyday use because it removes easily and looks very natural.

Overall, I rate this product 4 out of  5.
