EB Advance Liquid Concealer Review

Although I have my trusty San-San HD Concealer (Review here) for covering skin imperfections, this concealer cakes up whenever I oil up around the nose area.. So, I wanted to find a concealer that has a good coverage but will not cake up.

I read that liquid concealers are the best products to use to avoid cakiness because it has a very light formulation. So, when Ever Bilena  released its new liquid concealer, I just had to try it out to see if it will work for me (And because, it is cheaper than other brands. hahaha)

PRICE:

I bought this for 140 pesos at Watsons. This is widely available at any Ever Bilena Stall.

PACKAGING:

This comes in a typical plastic tube with a doe foot applicator.

FORMULA:

It has two shades; Light and Medium. Both of the shades have a beige to yellow undertone that is perfect for Most Filipinas. I got the 'light' shade to match my skin.

It is very liquidy and very easy to blend. Since it is a liquid concealer, It makes it easier to blend compared to cream and stick concealers.

It has no scent. This doesn't have a strong cosmetic scent.

It has light coverage. It can minimize dark under eye circles but it won't fully cover it. It can cover my veins and minor discolorations around my face well. It won't cover dark pimple marks and acne scars

It has a dewy finish. This concealer needs to be set with powder so that it won't settle into fine lines.

PERFORMANCE:

This concealer has a light coverage. It can only cover very minimal undereye circles and redness around the face.

Photo with flash
Set with powder.
As you can see, The concealer has no weird cast on flash photography. It looks natural. The shade is a match for my skin tone so it won't give me a very highlighted look. It did brighten my under eye area a little bit but did not fully conceal it..

Photo under natural light
This is a proper representation of the coverage of the product. It is minimized my dark circles but did not fully cover it. It also has a tendency to settle into fine lines so after blending it, you should set it directly with powder.

Close up after setting with powder
If not set with powder properly, the product will settle into fine lines as what you can see in the photo above. It also has a tendency to crease.

LONGEVITY:

It has a tendency to crease

After 4 hours
The concealer around the nose is still there. It held up well with a bit of caking

Sadly, This only lasted for two hours maximum on my undereyes. After two hours, I can see my undereye circles under natural light. It is really weird because, i can still see the concealer on my undereyes but it looks dark/ grayish.

As a concealer for veins and spots, it is still there.

FINAL VERDICT:

I really had high hopes for this concealer because, it is from Ever Bilena. Sadly, I don't like it at all for my under eyes. This is good for a natural coverage around the face but, is not recommended for under eye circles.

For under eye coverage and brightening. NO!
For Major spots and dark blemishes. NO!
For concealing Minor redness and discolorations. YES!

My search goes on in finding a quality yet affordable liquid concealer. As for now, I am sticking with my San -San HD Concealer for my under eye circles and use this as a concealer on my skin redness and discolorations.

Overall I give this 3 out of 5

GT Carrot Lotion Review

I bought this lotion from the local brand GT. I was enticed to buy this because of its high SPF content. This is their Carrot Lotion 4-in-1 Anti-Aging Formula.

PRICE:

I bought this for 215 pesos at watsons.

PACKAGING:

I really don't like the look of the packaging. There is so much going on.

It comes in a squeezable plastic tube that stands with the cap at the bottom. This makes the product easier to dispense since the product is already near the opening of the tube.

CLAIMS:

It claims to Whiten. When used, this will give you an instant whitening effect. It usually lasts for more than five hours. As for long term whitening benefits, I don't think this will lighten your skin.

It is very moisturizing. It is good because it is not drying. It  feels a bit sticky on hot days.

It claims to be a body concealer. This will not cover skin imperfections at all. It can only lighten dark spots a little because of its instant whitening effect.

Sunblock. As for sunblock, it claims to have SPF 60 which is super high. I personally cannot tell if it really has SPF 60 but, Titanium Dioxide is in their ingredients list so it has some protection.

FORMULATION:

  • It has a creamy consistency
  • It is sticky upon apllication but fades after a few hours. Stickiness is tolerable during cold days but, can get bothering if you sweat a lot or during hot days
  • Has a sheer coverage that makes skin look lighter but it cannot cover skin imperfections.
The consistency is just like regular lotion

PERFORMANCE:

  • Instant whitening effect.
  • No harsh white cast
  • It does not conceal skin imperfections
Before and After application
Instant whitening Effect

It has no weird cast and is not patchy

FINAL VERDICT:

I love the instant whitening effect it gives and the fact that it has a high SPF. I've used this for several months and found nothing wrong with this product except for the stickiness I feel during hot days.

Overall I give this 4 out of 5

iWhite Korea BB Holic BB Cream Review

Product Definition:

"IWhite korea BB Holic is a multi-tasking BB cram that provides several makeup and skin care benefits. It is perfect for everyday use as it is infused with over ten plant extracts to ensure that your skin is take care of while looking refreshingly beautiful."

BB Cream in Beige

PRICE:

I got this at watsons for 24.50 pesos. This contains 4ml of product.  This is probably one of the cheapest BB creams you can purchase. It is also a good sample size and one sachet can last up to 4-8 uses depending on how much you use it.

PACKAGING:

This comes in a cute sachet that is divided into two(One black and One White). Both the black side and the white side has the same product and same formula. The division makes it much easier to store and you can use one side at a time.

FORMULA:

  • The BB Cream is in a cream form from the sachet but turns into water like consistency when blending.
  • It is very easy to blend
  • Scented. Smells like perfume
  • Lightweight. feels just like skin. It is not hot nor heavy.
  • Dewy finish.
  • A little sticky. Setting it with powder solves this problem.
  • Only has two shades. light and beige. Both are wearable
  • It has light and buildable coverage. Enough to cover veins on my face and minor redness but does not fully cover dark pimple marks and acne.
  • Oxidizes. The color turned darker after a few hours

Light (Left) VS Beige (Right)
Light (Left) VS Beige (Right)
There a slight difference when you swatch the two shades side by side. The beige looks a bit darker and has a pink undertone while the light shade looks lighter and has a yellow undertone.

Photo with Flash
Applied light on one side and beige on the other side
I actually forgot which side has the beige and which side has light. hahaha Both shades look similar when blended on the face. So, regardless of which shade you choose, it will have the same effect. I was actually surprised that they look this similar because the swatches showed a big difference in the shade.

Photo with Flash
BB Cream set with powder
This is what the BB Cream looks like when set with powder. It gives very little cast because it has SPF 10. But, I don't think it is that noticeable.

PERFORMANCE:

It doesn't say anything about oil control but It kind of controlled my oil. Usually, during the 4 hour mark I oil up a lot but, with this BB cream, There is very little oil.

On the six hour mark, the BB cream is still there.

On the eight hour mark, the BB cream is gone

Used the BB Cream as a concealer for my veins
It has light coverage.
It covered my veins pretty well.

It can also cover the redness around my nose

LONGEVITY:

Photo under artificial light
This BB cream lasted the whole day on me. Up to 8 hours. It did oxidize and made my skin look darker at the end of the day.

FINAL VERDICT:

For people with very little skin concerns, this is a good everyday BB cream considering the price, the performance, and the skin benefits. People needing a little bit more coverage, this product may not be for you.

Overall I rate this 4 out of 5.

Benefit Benetint Review

Product Description:

"Our original rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof, see-through color for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. Originally created for an exotic dancer in the 1970s, Benetint has soared to cult fave status. It's loved by celebs, makeup artists, and gals around the world."

PACKAGING:

I got the sample/travel size. I like all of their product line. It is very cute especially their travel sizes. This lip and cheek stain comes in a plastic bottle with a brush applicator.

FORMULA:

Benetint only has one shade which is this red shade. As a blush, it may not suit everyone because red may not compliment all skin tones. As a lip stain, anyone who wants a reddish tint to their lips may use this.

Dab a little amount first on the cheeks and build the color up because it is very pigmented. I find that blending it with fingers is the best way to blend it but, you do get stained fingers after.

It comes in a liquid form. It is very blendable. It also has a mild rose taste and smell.

PERFORMANCE:

It is very easy to use. I just make three dots on my cheeks and blend it out using my fingers. It is super pigmented so be careful when applying this.

Three dots. . . Well, not actually dots.

Then I blend it out using my fingers
Blended well and gives a red flush.
As a lip stain, it did not give me a very pigmented color. It gave me a sheer color which is shocking because, the color payoff on the cheeks was very good. For some reason, it won't stain my upper lip. I've tried applying the product multiple times but it would only stain my lower lip.

Benetint used as a lipstain

Photo with flash.
Lip and Cheek stain.

This red shade is not compatible with light skin tones. It looks very red and unnatural when you apply too much.

LONGEVITY:

It lasts all day. No touch ups needed.

FINAL VERDICT:

This is a good long lasting blush. It gives a very subtle color that is buildable to a very dark color. Use it sparsely for a natural flush or build it up for a heavier finish. This is a very reddish color so it may not suit light skin tones if applied too much.

As a lip tint, it gives very little color. There are other lip tints more pigmented than this.

Overall I rate this 4 out of 5

How To: Thick Straight Eyebrows

This is my version of straight eyebrows. I used a very natural color closest to my eyebrow hair for a natural look.

STEP 1:

Choose an eyebrow pencil or an eyeshadow that is the same color as the hairs of your brows.
The pencil should be dry and not waxy to ensure a more natural brow rather than a sharp line. Here, I used my Fashion 21 Auto Eyebrow Pen in Grayish Brown  because this gives a very natural look.

STEP 2:

Brush hairs neatly with a spoolie to see your natural eyebrow shape.

STEP 3:

Instead of going along the arch, draw a straight horizontal line connecting the end of your tail to the middle section of the brows.

STEP 4:

Fill in the gaps and the eyebrows. Because I've used a patchy pencil, the eyebrows looks mare natural and the patches of products mimics hairs.

STEP 5:

Brush with a spoolie to blend the product for a more natural look.

STEP 6:

Finish off with a clear eyebrow gel brushing the middle and front part upwards and brushing the tail a bit downwards to cover the product below the brows.

STEP 7:

Finished!

Straight brows (left) VS Arched brows (right)

This is what the Straight brows look on one of my eyebrows.

FINAL VERDICT:

I love how this moisturizes my face without the annoying sticky feeling. It is perfect for everyday use especially for people with oily skin because it does not add to the stickiness of the face. Only down side, is that it has no Sun protection factor.
